About the Role
Lead and coordinate science and technical support programs for the U.S. Geological Survey in the Mid-Continent region, managing operations, personnel, and interagency coordination to ensure mission success.
Responsibilities
- Direct program operations for federal science initiatives
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics
- Serve as primary liaison between agency stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and reporting standards
- Supervise technical staff and contractor personnel
- Coordinate interagency collaboration on scientific projects
- Develop strategic plans aligned with agency goals
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting workflows
- Implement risk management and quality assurance protocols
- Lead program evaluations and performance reviews
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and leadership
- Prepare funding justifications and budget proposals
- Ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards
- Manage procurement and contract oversight activities
- Support emergency response and contingency planning
- Promote innovation in scientific data systems
- Monitor legislative and policy developments affecting projects
- Organize training and professional development for staff
- Maintain documentation for audits and reviews
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency

Preferred Qualifications
