About the Role

General Motors LLC is hiring a Program Cost & Control Analyst for GM Defense. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting program financial performance to ensure GM Defense meets its financial commitments. This is a key position where you will maintain accurate Estimates at Complete (EACs) and maximize program profitability to support critical business decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare monthly program Estimate at Completion (EAC) analysis, ensuring true cost expectations are captured.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual program financials for reporting to program teams and GMD consolidated.
  • Incorporate contractual changes into program forecasts to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule projections.
  • Perform program risk assessments to identify and mitigate cost and scheduling risks.
  • Prepare program plans and baselines, ensuring requirements and statement of work are captured with an understanding of Revenue Recognition (ASC 606).
  • Monitor and validate the accuracy of program cost, analyzing variance to actuals to take corrective actions.
  • Work with other analysts to assess financial results and provide insights to help achieve financial goals.
  • Develop and analyze financial rolling forecasts, including program P&L, cash flow, and production planning needs.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial estimates and analysis to support decisions on investments, budgeting, and overall strategy.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with functional counterparts as a business partner.
  • Use internal business tools such as SAP (PEG) and Dassian for financial analysis.
  • Demonstrate proactive behavior to identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensure standard processes are automated and working effectively.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting concepts.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other office products.
  • Experience with Hyperion and SAP.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within Finance/Controllership and with operating partners.
  • Defense or Government contracting experience.
  • Eligible to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors or Masters in Finance.
  • Knowledge of EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
  • Learning agility and intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to network and build trust across GMD program management, finance, and controllership teams.
  • Ability to solve challenges independently, innovate on reporting, and provide new insights for leadership.
  • Knowledge of finance principles, including income statement and cash flow statement analysis.
  • Financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to GM Senior Management.

Work Mode

This role operates on a hybrid schedule. While remote, you must report to the Warren, Michigan location three times a week if you reside within a 50-mile radius.
