Transport for London (TfL) is hiring a Production Scheduler

About the Role

Transport for London (TfL) is looking for a Production Scheduler to join our team. You will assist in developing weekly Production Schedules for each delivery area, ensuring our manufacturing workshops are fully supported and our customers' material requirements are met. This role is central to coordinating operational activities and maintaining the smooth flow of information and work.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate with the operations team to clear parked invoices on SAP for timely supplier payment.
  • Provide support in setting up meetings and workshops to establish effective governance.
  • Coordinate schedules for various operational activities to support manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration within manufacturing to ensure teams have timely, correct, and updated information.
  • Produce performance reports and updates in MS Word or Excel based on manager-supplied information.
  • Co-ordinate and respond to incoming customer inquiries relating to Workshop operations.
  • Input data from operational timesheets onto the SAP Manufacturing System accurately and promptly.
  • Provide administration support to the SAP system by raising Sales Orders and Production Work Orders.
  • Print production documents such as Pick lists and Travelers from the SAP Production Control System.
  • Update Visualization boards in preparation for daily management meetings.
  • Monitor customer stock levels to minimize the occurrence of nil stocks.
  • Download and manipulate Customer Order book data from SAP, producing MS Excel spreadsheets.
  • Manage the movement and distribution of work, physically tracing and loading work bank items to enable smooth delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Competent IT skills with good knowledge and practical application of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Detailed knowledge of the SAP system, particularly the SAP Manufacturing Solution (raising Sales/Production Orders), timesheet entries, and printing production paperwork.
  • Basic awareness of Health and Safety in a production environment.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proven experience in planning, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working under pressure and dealing with competing demands.
  • Experience conducting research and summarising information from different and conflicting sources.
  • Experience in coordination and collaboration with different functions within manufacturing.

Nice to Have

  • Experience using Microsoft Project.

Team & Environment

You will work with Production Managers, Chargehands, the Delivery Manager, and various cross-functional teams to coordinate activities and support the manufacturing process.
