Role Overview
As a Production Coordinator (Accounting), you will play a central role in managing financial workflows for production projects. You'll be responsible for maintaining budget integrity, processing purchase orders, and ensuring accurate financial tracking from initiation through completion. Your work will directly support production teams by providing clear, up-to-date financial data and streamlining accounting processes across client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for all project accounting inquiries, providing clarity and consistency across teams.
- Develop detailed budgets using high-level parameters provided by Production Managers, ensuring granular cost accuracy.
- Format and finalize client-facing budget documents, ensuring they are clear, professional, and ready for presentation.
- Update Statements of Work as project requirements evolve, maintaining alignment between scope and financial commitments.
- Issue purchase orders for most project-related expenditures and manage the associated approval workflows.
- Review incoming invoices against issued POs, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with Production Managers to resolve issues.
- Communicate directly with vendors and external partners to clarify billing processes and ensure compliance with procurement protocols.
- Maintain real-time project trackers for client spending and internal financial records, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
- Provide in-depth budget analysis and reporting when requested by internal teams or clients, supporting informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in project-based accounting or production bookkeeping.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets with detailed line-item tracking.
- Experience communicating financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders, including vendors and clients.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for document creation, collaboration, and data management.
- Strong organizational skills with a consistent focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to navigate multiple accounting systems and adapt to varying production workflows.
Work Environment
This position operates within a flexible, project-based workforce model. Assignments vary in duration and scope, offering exposure to a range of clients in media and technology. Work is conducted on a hybrid basis with an estimated schedule of Tuesday through Thursday, up to eight hours per day in Eastern Time. Schedules may shift based on active projects.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly pay ranges from $40 to $47, commensurate with experience.
