Lam Research is hiring a Product Support Engineer

Lam Research is looking for a Product Support Engineer to serve as the backbone of technical support for field engineers, technicians, and support personnel in your region. Your expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electromechanical and software systems will be crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and operational continuity.

What You'll Do

• Provide expert technical support to customers for highly technical and sophisticated products.
• Develop customer confidence through credible recommendations and an understanding of their perspective to support sales, service, and revenue.
• Participate in Lam’s worldwide technical community, actively share knowledge, and take a leadership position to enhance global learning.
• Act as a technical mentor for field and account engineers and may design or conduct training sessions.

What We're Looking For

• A PhD with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or an MS or Engineering degree with 6+ years; or a BS with 8+ years of work experience.
• Ability to understand and work from electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Skill in formulating root cause hypothesis, analysis, and action plans with detailed problem statements, data analysis, and success criteria.
• Capacity to provide quality remote and on-site escalation support and management.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and coordinate multiple technical tasks.
• Experience working directly with customers to meet their needs with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and customers, adhering to site rules and safety policies with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a constrictive clean room environment, wearing required personal protective equipment, and sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and be on-call, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Availability for constant communication with the field via meetings, instant messenger, text, email, etc.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally based on business needs.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with software structure and the ability to troubleshoot from the Control Works level.
• Acquaintance with Analog-to-Digital I/O devices (IOC, SIOC, EIOC) and their interaction with the Tool Platform Software Package.
• Knowledge of directory structure and the ability to troubleshoot it.
• Ability to communicate with customers at a technical level and influence their decision to follow action plans.
