Real is hiring a Product, Privacy and Data Protection Counsel

Real is seeking a Product, Privacy and Data Protection Counsel to join our Legal team. In this role, you will provide crucial legal guidance on privacy, data security, and fintech regulations directly to product and engineering teams, embedded throughout the product development lifecycle. This position is fully remote.

What You'll Do

• Counsel Product, Marketing, and business teams throughout the product lifecycle on applicable legal and regulatory requirements and risks.
• Anticipate and identify legal and regulatory risks, and propose creative and effective solutions to mitigate these risks.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements in support of the business and its initiatives.
• Remain up-to-date on relevant industry and consumer protection laws and regulations.
• Partner with the Marketing and go-to-market teams to ensure compliance of all consumer-facing materials.
• Partner with the broader Legal & Compliance team on various other corporate and enterprise initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in a product counsel role at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Experience in a law firm or in-house corporate environment working specifically on regulatory compliance.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge and application of consumer protection laws and regulations such as RESPA, UDAAP, and GLBA.
• Willingness to dig in and learn new technology; digital fluency or a willingness to learn.
• Candidates must be based in the U.S. to be considered.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Legal & Compliance team, working closely with product and engineering teams.
