Responsibilities
- Remotely operate and supervise robots to ensure tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
- Represent operational teams in product and engineering discussions by sharing practical feedback and validating new features.
- Coordinate a geographically dispersed remote operations team by assigning tasks, resolving issues, and maintaining smooth operations.
- Manage daily planning, track tasks, and maintain documentation across shifts and time zones.
- Generate daily reports summarizing robot performance, key metrics, and operational trends.
- Maintain and update operational playbooks and knowledge repositories to support scalable and repeatable processes.
- Collaborate with customers and on-site teams to resolve daily operational obstacles and maintain safe robot operations.
- Identify discrepancies between intended product functionality and actual field use, then convert field insights into actionable product improvements.
- Utilize AI and automation technologies to enhance workflows, detect anomalies, and minimize manual intervention.
Requirements
- Must reside in Auckland, New Zealand and be available to work from the Auckland office a minimum of three days per week.
- Must be willing and able to travel within New Zealand and internationally, including occasional overseas trips.
- Must be capable of supporting international customers during U.S. time zone hours.
- Strong organizational abilities with experience managing tasks, shifts, and workflows across distributed or remote teams.
- Proven experience in creating reports, performance metrics, or summaries for stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convert technical observations into practical insights and adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and directly engage with customers or site personnel to resolve operational issues.
- Self-motivated with solid problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-focused while prioritizing critical tasks; proactively identifies and reduces operational risks.
- Comfortable using AI tools, including tuning prompts, testing outputs, and evaluating performance to improve real-world processes.
- Occasionally required to lift and position robots and associated equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Capable of attaching and securing payloads such as 360° cameras onto robotic systems.
- Basic understanding of construction projects, including construction phases and on-site operational dynamics.
Nice to Have
- Curious about emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, with enthusiasm for experimenting, iterating, and refining workflows.
- Experience building web applications or custom tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic scripting, vibe-coding, dashboards, or workflow automation tools.
