Job Summary The Commercial Lines Product Manager (CLPM) specializes in property and casualty insurance lines characterized by complex underwriting, significant exposure limits, and extended loss profiles. This role collaborates closely with underwriting leadership, technology teams, and executive management to optimize gross margins through strategic premium production, loss ratio management, and operational efficiency. The CLPM serves as a comprehensive subject matter expert, possessing deep understanding of coverage mechanisms, rating strategies, business processes, technological systems, and data infrastructures for assigned insurance programs. Reporting to the AVP of Product Management and Actuarial, the professional will leverage advanced data warehouse and business intelligence tools to archive, transform, and report policy information. Position Responsibilities - Generate and maintain product performance scorecards, identifying trends, opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to business unit leaders - Acquire advanced subject matter expertise in policy and claim data, utilizing SQL, Python, and analytical applications to extract, summarize, and report critical insights - Collaborate with underwriting leaders to manage rating plans, pricing strategies, and exposure trends - Oversee policy form kits and implementation efforts in coordination with technical teams - Evaluate and streamline underwriting processes, identifying third-party data sources to enhance efficiency - Analyze claims data from third-party administrators, considering statistical credibility and loss development maturity - Develop competitive intelligence, identifying market advantages and potential product enhancements - Optimize financial outcomes by balancing production, loss ratios, agency commissions, and fees Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required, preferably in quantitative discipline - 2-3 years P&C insurance product management experience or 3-5 years as a Product Analyst - Comprehensive understanding of P&C insurance processes, data metrics, and rating mechanisms - Expertise in insurance pricing strategies, particularly property and casualty domains - Demonstrated process analysis and automation capabilities - Advanced analytical skills, including Excel proficiency and data extraction expertise - Working knowledge of actuarial fundamentals - Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities The role offers bonus compensation, with specific details to be discussed during the interview process.
