Medline Industries, LP is seeking a Product Manager - OTC to manage the full product lifecycle, including sourcing, marketing, new product development, and sales support for assigned over-the-counter products. In this role, you will drive financial growth and work directly with our sales force to train them and support customer conversions.
What You'll Do
- Identify and develop new products, managing each stage through market launch.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans, including product strategy, pricing, collateral creation, and brand management.
- Review monthly financial performance, determine contributing factors, and offer solutions for detrimental sales or cost trends.
- Prepare product forecasts, analyze sales trends, and assess competitive strategy impacts.
- Work with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to reduce Cost of Goods by assessing packaging, materials, sourcing, and shipping.
- Manage inventory by focusing on eliminating surplus and optimizing SKU count.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors for raw materials and finished goods.
- Visit vendors to develop products and train their personnel on product aspects and usage.
- Coordinate materials with vendors and develop finished custom items.
- Analyze and bid on GPO and/or Integrated Delivery Network contracts for assigned product categories.
- Develop and deliver training materials and sales tools for internal stakeholders, sales forces, and customers.
- Conduct market research and translate findings into new products, improvements, or line extensions by leading a multi-functional team.
- Travel with the sales force to support efforts to convert customers to purchase Medline products.
- Provide timely follow-up to sales forces by answering product questions via email and phone.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 years of marketing, sales, product management, or clinical practice experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Experience negotiating with outside vendors and internal resources.
- Experience collecting and analyzing financial data.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes, within state and out of state.
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word (e.g., inserting headers, page breaks, tables, adjusting columns).
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g., applying themes, formatting, inserting pictures, adding transitions).
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using SUM function, setting borders, inserting charts, sorting).
