The Product Manager for Forge will define and drive the product strategy for a new platform enabling customers to build, fine-tune, and deploy custom AI models at scale. This role operates at the intersection of advanced AI research and enterprise product development, requiring deep collaboration with AI scientists and engineers to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define and advocate for a clear product vision aligned with company objectives and market potential.
- Conduct market and user experience research to identify unmet needs, competitive gaps, and evolving trends in state-of-the-art AI post-training capabilities.
- Lead full-cycle product development from concept through launch and ongoing iteration, balancing speed, quality, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with design and research teams to create intuitive, high-impact user experiences, using data and feedback to guide improvements.
- Partner with marketing and sales on go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and customer adoption plans.
- Coordinate across engineering, design, and business functions to align on priorities, trade-offs, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain a flexible roadmap that delivers immediate value while advancing strategic long-term initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building and scaling complex AI/ML or infrastructure products in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Strong grasp of training pipelines, reinforcement learning loops, and model deployment architectures.
- Deep expertise in managing the AI model lifecycle, including fine-tuning, evaluation, and serving.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and scalable deployment across on-prem, VPC, and cloud environments; familiarity with Kubernetes or Slurm is highly desirable.
- Persistent focus on solving real user problems using both quantitative data and qualitative insights.
- Proven ability to align and motivate engineering, design, and go-to-market teams without formal authority.
- Capable of strategic thinking while also engaging in hands-on problem solving, from roadmap planning to metric analysis and technical validation.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills for executives, cross-functional teams, and end users, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics like RL, LoRA, and SFT for diverse audiences.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve rapidly.
