Netflix is hiring a Product Manager, Developer Platform - Application Development Platforms

About the Role

Netflix is hiring a Product Manager for our Developer Platform team, focusing on Application Development Platforms. You will define and drive the strategy for our centrally supported language ecosystems (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python) to ensure thousands of engineers can efficiently develop and deploy services.

What You'll Do

  • Drive product vision and strategy for Netflix’s JVM ecosystem and Java application development offerings.
  • Partner with senior engineering leaders to define a forward-looking roadmap and align on priorities.
  • Develop product roadmaps in partnership with engineering teams and see features through from idea to launch.
  • Define key success measures like build times and time to deploy, and drive experiments to improve them.
  • Create strong partnerships with Netflix engineers through regular outreach and feedback loops.
  • Drive technical excellence to ensure application framework and runtime systems are reliable, secure, and performant.
  • Stay informed about advancements in language ecosystems and conduct thoughtful buy-vs-build analyses.
  • Prioritize effectively to maximize impact, balancing quick wins with foundational investments.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience (or equivalent technical role) with a proven track record in a complex, technical domain.
  • Strong technical knowledge of application development fundamentals, the JVM ecosystem, modern application frameworks, build systems, and dependency management.
  • Deep technical knowledge combined with a customer-focused mindset and empathy for engineers.
  • Demonstrated passion for developer platforms, tools, workflows, and infrastructure.
  • Strategic thinking connecting customer pain points to innovative technology solutions.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable applying qualitative and quantitative methods to define success, prioritize problems, and measure impact.
