Moog is hiring a Product Engineer

About the Role

What You'll Do

As a Product Engineer, you'll play a key role in advancing flight control actuation systems for military aircraft. You'll develop detailed assembly and test instructions, ensuring production teams have clear, actionable guidance. Your work will include creating formal documentation such as Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures, engineering memos, and entries in the Electronic Historical Record system.

You'll support the implementation of production equipment, including test systems, assembly tools, and flow-line setups. A core responsibility is maintaining product integrity through rigorous quality standards and participating in Material Review Board evaluations. You'll also assist in determining whether customer notifications are required due to product deviations.

Collaboration is essential. You'll work closely with internal teams to resolve manufacturing challenges, improve first pass yield, and meet cost and schedule targets. You'll support design updates by redlining drawings, initiating Engineering Change Notices, and participating in Change Review Board meetings. You'll also identify opportunities to enhance producibility and reliability in both design and assembly processes, leading improvements and managing associated timelines.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required, along with at least two years of relevant engineering experience. This position involves access to U.S. export-controlled information, so eligibility under those regulations is mandatory. Occasional travel, up to 2–3 weeks per year, may be needed to support project goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in aerospace or another regulated industry is highly valued. Familiarity with manufacturing environments, including direct interaction with shop floor personnel, strengthens your candidacy. Knowledge of Root Cause/Corrective Action methods, LEAN principles, project planning, product line transfers, and data analysis is beneficial. Strong communication skills and hands-on experience with hydraulic system build, test, and evaluation are also preferred.

Benefits

This role offers flexible paid time off, paid holidays, and a parental leave program. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with an Employee Assistance Plan and supplemental coverages. Additional offerings include a matching 401k, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, annual profit sharing, health savings and flexible spending accounts, and annual bonuses. The company supports long-term growth through tuition assistance, mentorship, leadership development, and personal growth programs. An inclusive culture, Employee Resource Groups, and team-building initiatives contribute to a positive work environment. Site-specific benefits may also apply.
