Responsibilities
- Travel to install pilot devices for a new product
- Provide feedback on new engineering hardware concepts
- Work with the Device team to solve issues in the field
- Survey, deploy, and maintain cutting-edge drone systems that support public safety agencies
- Support the technical aspects of DFR (Drone as First Responder) deployments, primarily focused on hardware installation, ensuring each project is executed smoothly and to Flock’s high standards
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external vendors to optimize our deployment processes and help scale the DFR program
- Monitor and document the status of work in the field and in the lab
- Provide installation pictures via Flock field app
- Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys
- Communicate effectively with both internal teams and customers
- Install poles of varying lengths per install specifications with digging a minimum of 8” x 24” holes
Requirements
- Experience as a technician in the field with a familiarity with product operations
- Demonstrated excellent leadership skills
- Proficiency with assembly, mounting, and troubleshooting of license-plate reading cameras, video cameras, and gunshot detection devices
- Work with a bucket truck and/or ladder to work on equipment up to 30’ high
- Prior experience with fieldwork required and product development is a plus: construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar (e.g. test and termination of RJ45 connectors, troubleshooting 110V/220V hardware connections
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role, offering on-site or remote technical support throughout the deployment lifecycle
- Understanding of hardware troubleshooting, particularly with systems like drones, docking stations, radar, and other technology commonly used in DFR deployments
- Knowledge of FAA Part 107: Solid understanding of FAA Part 107 regulations for drone operations, including safety protocols, airspace classifications, and regulatory compliance standards
- Outstanding project management and communication (written, verbal) skills
- This role requires you to be 21+ in order to rent a vehicle from preferred providers
- Willing to be trained to operate and drive a bucket truck and other heavy machinery (e.g. articulating manlifts, telehandler, etc) as well as drive a Dodge Promaster 1500 or similar company vehicle
- Comfortable working on and around ladders/heights
- Desire to work outdoors and comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Associate and/or bachelor degree
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company motor vehicle standards

Structure: The Product Deployment team is composed of individuals who are results-driven, detail-oriented and combine a great work ethic with critical thinking to install products that delight our customers and drive our shift to be a multi-product company.
Additional Information
- Work hours are M-F with occasional extended hours in order to meet project deadlines and customer expectations
- Travel: 80% travel required. Expect to be on the road 3-4 days per week performing activities (e.g. installation, maintenance, testing) across the US
- Physical Activities Performed Frequently: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Adjusting or moving objects up to 75 pounds in all directions. Communicating with others to exchange information, often over the phone. - Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands. Constant light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. Frequently working in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
