About the Role

HARTING Technology Group is looking for a Procurement Manager to oversee the local supply chain performance and lead continuous improvements for HARTING India. In this role, you will define the local SCM strategy, optimize processes, and manage key performance indicators to reduce costs and support sustainable development.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee local supply chain performance and provide leadership in continuous improvements.
  • Lead and manage logistics (warehouse, shipping, customs clearance) and demand planning to reduce SCM risk and cost.
  • Define local supply chain strategy based on global and local company strategy.
  • Set up and optimize local SCM processes to comply with internal and external requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement on delivery performance and material availability while achieving inventory targets.
  • Organize local demand planning and logistics planning activities in accordance with the global planning process.
  • Monitor order intake and business trends, providing suggestions on the company's strategy setup.
  • Monitor SCM-related key performance indicators, organizing root cause analysis and countermeasures.
  • Drive inventory optimization, organizing regular lot size, lead time, and MOQ reviewing and negotiation.
  • Organize analysis of slow movers and non-movers, developing scrapping strategies.
  • Work with global supply chain and local management to define SCM-related KPIs.
  • Conduct internal annual stock taking and coordinate with the Finance Department for external auditing.
  • Drive continuous improvement on warehouse management, monitoring storage bin and facility utilization.
  • Effectively manage shipping & customs clearance operations, controlling transportation time and freight.
  • Act as a contact window, maintaining effective communications between Global and internal teams.
  • Develop subordinates within the area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams.
  • Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans.
  • Analyze inventories to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies.
  • Drive MPS efficiently, maintaining balance between demand and supply from procurement to delivery.
  • Maintain knowledge of Customs, Excise, Tax, and Local distribution.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in SCM profession, International Trade, or comparable qualification.
  • At least 10-12 years of work experience in SCM Management on procurement function.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Good exposure in a multi-national company.
  • Professional knowledge of the whole supply chain and a good understanding of requirements from management and the global team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERP systems (SAP R/3, APO is preferred), MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Capability for analysis and synthesis approach to problem solving, planning, control, decision-making skills, and results orientation.
  • Strong communication and people management skills, deadline oriented, with good time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong analysis skills, initiative, and an open mind.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and local language skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Basic lean manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Strong learning skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience dealing with electromechanical products, preferably in the connectors sector.
  • Wiring Harness / Cable Assembly work experience.

  • ERP system: SAP R/3, APO
  • MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Team & Environment

You will work within a cross-functional team, especially with Production, Engineering, Quality, PD, Purchase, IE, Sales and Customer, and the Global Supply Chain Management team. This role reports to the Director of Operations.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located at HARTING India (Production) in Guindy, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.
