Role Overview
As Print Shop Manager, you will direct all aspects of large- and grand-format printing operations, ensuring smooth production flow from job initiation to final delivery. You’ll coordinate between teams, manage equipment performance, and act as the primary contact for client inquiries and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with on-site and remote leadership to support operational and administrative functions
- Supervise production staff during standard and extended hours, ensuring adherence to workflow protocols
- Track active jobs and relay critical details—such as proof approvals, special instructions, and shipping requirements—to relevant teams
- Act as the main point of contact for clients on print specifications, technical requirements, and project status
- Ensure all work is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards
- Train team members on proper procedures, equipment use, and safety practices
- Oversee equipment maintenance and recommend technology upgrades to enhance efficiency
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies to support uninterrupted production
- Address client concerns and resolve escalations promptly and professionally
- Support cross-functional teams and step into production tasks when necessary
- Perform additional operational duties as needed
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must have at least 3–5 years of experience in print production, with direct involvement in large- or grand-format printing. Supervisory experience, strong technical knowledge of printing equipment and materials, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting are essential. Excellent communication skills and proven problem-solving abilities are critical for success.
Preferred Background
Technical training in printing or a related field is a plus.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position requiring daily presence in the production facility. The role involves hands-on oversight, collaboration with team members, and occasional support in production tasks.
