Position Overview
Lead the development and delivery of persuasive, compliant, and strategically sound proposals and qualifications for GIS-focused projects. This role plays a central part in shaping how technical capabilities are presented to clients, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with business development goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the full lifecycle of proposal development, from initial planning through final submission, for both standard and strategic pursuits
- Work closely with technical experts, business development leads, and marketing to build client-centered content that highlights strengths and differentiators
- Conduct in-depth research on clients, competitors, and market trends to shape positioning strategies and win themes
- Prepare compliance matrices, outlines, and schedules based on RFP or SOQ requirements
- Write and refine key proposal components such as executive summaries, firm overviews, project narratives, and bios
- Collaborate with designers to integrate visuals that reinforce messaging and enhance readability
- Support capture activities including kick-offs, strategy sessions, and client debriefs
- Contribute to pre-RFP positioning materials to strengthen early engagement
- Coordinate interview preparation, including content development, scheduling, and rehearsal support
- Track all proposal activities and deadlines within the CRM system
- Provide client intelligence through research on budgets, recent awards, and industry events
- Assist in the creation of marketing collateral, capability briefs, and client meeting materials
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance proposal quality, efficiency, and consistency
- Use AI-powered tools to streamline research, writing, and content management tasks
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, offering guidance and feedback to support professional growth
- Ensure best practices are followed across teams and contribute to knowledge sharing
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field is typically expected. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
- At least five years of experience developing proposals in the AEC industry, particularly in geospatial or information technology services
- Proven ability to lead complex proposal efforts from concept to submission
- Solid understanding of proposal compliance and response workflows
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and across teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign is a plus

Compensation
Base salary range: $80,000 – $95,000, adjusted based on experience and location. Additional compensation may be available for qualifying roles.
