About the Role

Salesforce is hiring a Principal Technical Architect to be a customer-facing enterprise domain expert within our pre-sales organization. You will apply broad technical skills, industry knowledge, and business acumen to support sales teams in developing value propositions for digital transformation and cloud adoption. This role is a subject matter expert in business strategy, application architecture, data, integration, security, cloud computing, AI, and analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Support sales teams in developing Salesforce value propositions aligned to customers' business strategies on digital transformation and cloud adoption.
  • Determine which Salesforce and third-party technologies to leverage in customer-driven architectures based on product knowledge, industry experience, and architecture methodologies.
  • Lead key discussions and considerations around change programs from both a business and technical perspective.
  • Help sales teams develop specific, repeatable propositions and go-to-market strategies.
  • Participate in the delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions, and industry summits to customers, partners, and internal audiences.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to understand business & IT department requirements, translate business needs into a compelling solution, and present recommendations to executive, technical, and business audiences.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and their delivery.
  • Some coding experience and a willingness to work with code (e.g., Apex, Node, Go, R, Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby).
  • Database and data management fundamentals.
  • Web and mobile application development and architecture.
  • Application lifecycle management.
  • Integration principles and tools.
  • Enterprise data management tools and methods.
  • Process orchestration.
  • Principles of network, application, and information security.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to support multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Lifelong learner, inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, other STEM degrees or equivalent work experience. Graduate study is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant or developer in a customer facing role that provided differentiated software technology solutions.
  • Experience in roles that required working hands-on to build, implement, administrate, or maintain enterprise software (e.g. software engineer, implementation architect, integration architect, or similar).
  • Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance and security in the context of enterprise software.
  • Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery or other innovation techniques.
  • Proven experience in a specific field, vertical or market segment.
  • Knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges.
  • Hands-on experience with Agentic AI & Agentforce, Prompt Engineering & Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI Architecture, Salesforce Data360, and Salesforce Flow & Orchestration.
