The Principal Systems Engineer at Flex partners with senior engineering and architect roles at customer companies to understand and develop systems requirements and architectural considerations. This position is based in San Jose, CA and reports to the Director, Field Applications, operating in a remote capacity with significant travel to customer sites and industry events.
What You'll Do
- Interface with external stakeholders (senior engineering, systems, architect roles) and internal stakeholders (CTO, R&D, Product Marketing, FAEs) to understand and articulate customer systems and architectural considerations.
- Travel to customer sites for in-person discussions on technology and products.
- Travel to tradeshows and other company events to represent Flex technologies.
- Coordinate customer activities with Sales and FAE teams.
- Develop and maintain external and internal stakeholder relationships.
- Lead complex conversations with customers to understand requirements and articulate design possibilities.
- Relay customer requirements internally and understand design capabilities, initiatives, and priorities.
- Lead internal conversations to understand current postures and limitations, and help set technology direction.
- Work with all parties involved, including ODMs, to create and maintain clarity.
- Develop technology roadmaps for customers by gathering information and present them internally.
- Co-develop technology roadmap for Flex with design teams and present to customers.
- Help define new products based on customer requirements and new technology knowledge.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent)
- 8+ years of experience in Technical Marketing or Architecture or Applications or Design or Systems Engineering of DC/DC converters
- Good understanding of the DC/DC conversion market as well as design considerations
- Experience interfacing with Engineering management at Tier 1 customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation: $150,000.00 USD - $206,300.00 USD Annual
Work Mode
Remote role based in San Jose, CA with 20%-40% travel to customer sites and industry events.
