Salesforce, Inc. is hiring a Principal Solution Engineer

Lead the technical vision behind enterprise analytics and AI adoption at scale. In this role, you'll partner with sales teams to understand customer needs, identify business pain points, and design tailored solutions using Salesforce’s advanced analytics and AI technologies. Your expertise will shape how organizations leverage data to drive smarter decisions and long-term digital transformation.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct discovery workshops with business stakeholders to uncover strategic challenges and opportunities
  • Design and deploy solution prototypes and pilot implementations from start to finish
  • Create compelling, customized demonstrations that clearly show business impact
  • Explain technical architecture, security, and integration models for cloud-based platforms
  • Articulate value propositions of AI, Data Cloud, and analytics suites to executive audiences
  • Respond to technical inquiries in RFPs and RFIs with accurate, detailed insights
  • Enable internal teams to effectively position analytics offerings across customer engagements
  • Support enterprise sales cycles with knowledge of ETL, data migration, and integration patterns
  • Stay current through ongoing training and certification in evolving product capabilities
  • Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously while meeting performance goals

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience
  • 5–10 years in technical pre-sales, consulting, or solutions engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Python, Java, JSON, or shell scripting
  • Familiarity with Salesforce APIs, Custom Objects, APEX, and front-end development tools
  • Proven ability to analyze data, detect trends, and build meaningful visualizations
  • Experience with predictive and generative AI models
  • Strong grasp of data modeling, star schema design, and data warehousing concepts
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills

Preferred Background

  • Salesforce certifications (Admin, Advanced Admin, Data Cloud, Agentblazer)
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Data Integrator, or Data Transformation Services

Technology Environment

Work across a modern stack including Tableau Next, CRM Analytics, Predictive and Generative AI, Salesforce core platform, Agentforce, Data Cloud, APIs, APEX, JavaScript frameworks, Python, Java, and enterprise integration tools.

Work Model

This is a hybrid role based in select cities including California, New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC. Regular travel may be required to support customer engagements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $134,750 – $210,910 annually; higher range of $148,190 – $231,980 in California, New York, and select major metro areas
