Lead the future of payroll transformation as a Principal SAP Payroll Consultant, shaping the strategic direction of Employee Central Payroll (ECP) deployments across Australia and New Zealand. You will play a central role in designing, implementing, and optimising scalable SAP-based payroll solutions that meet evolving regulatory and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on best-practice HCM and payroll strategies by interpreting complex requirements and translating them into robust SAP solutions.
- Lead full lifecycle SAP Payroll and ECP implementations, ensuring compliance with Australian legislation including STP Phase 2, Superannuation, and Fair Work regulations.
- Redesign and document HR and payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with modern SAP architecture.
- Drive solution design, including gap analysis, roadmap development, and effort estimation for large-scale transformations.
- Oversee configuration, prototype development, and testing cycles, ensuring technical integrity and readiness for go-live.
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies, review test cases, and lead defect resolution to ensure a seamless transition.
- Manage data migration planning, including historical payroll data and infotype mapping, to support accurate system cutover.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to client teams, enabling long-term system sustainability and user adoption.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SAP HCM Payroll and deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and its SAP configuration.
- Proven leadership in at least 2–3 end-to-end SAP Payroll implementations within Australia, whether on-premise or in ECP environments.
- Expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex payroll schemas and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs).
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and engage senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and navigating complex project environments.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and integration with SuccessFactors is highly valued.
