Samsara is hiring a Principal Product Manager to serve as the visionary for the next generation of our Video-Based Safety platform. This role is a defining opportunity to pioneer a new paradigm for industrial safety using Applied AI and Computer Vision, with product decisions impacting lives and driving multi-hundred-million dollar growth.
What You'll Do
- Pioneer and own the 3-5 year strategic vision and roadmap for the Video-Based Safety platform.
- Set the technical direction for the next generation of AI/ML systems, including foundation models, real-time edge processing, and data annotation pipelines.
- Influence executive leadership and cross-functional teams on critical resource allocation, long-term investments, and strategic partnerships.
- Mentor and coach other product managers and technical leaders across the Safety organization.
- Define high-impact product opportunities by synthesizing market trends, competitive shifts, and customer needs.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive product management experience with a track record of defining and shipping multi-product, multi-year platform strategies.
- Prior experience shipping features that rely heavily on Machine Learning, Computer Vision (CV), or large-scale IoT data processing.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong technical acumen to lead strategic trade-off discussions regarding model architecture, training, and deployment at massive scale.
- Proven ability to operate in extreme ambiguity, using data and first-principles thinking to make high-stakes investment choices.
- Exceptional executive-level communication and presence, comfortable presenting and defending strategy to the CEO, CPO, and external audiences.
Nice to Have
- A deep understanding of data quality, labeling pipelines, and MLOps best practices in a production environment.
- Experience in a Principal PM, Group PM, or Director of Product role at a high-growth, high-talent-bar technology company.
- Prior experience defining the product strategy for a SaaS product built on a hardware/software integrated system.
