Renesas Electronics is seeking a Principal Product Engineer to lead product development for our state-of-the-art Memory Interface products. You will drive the entire journey from conception to volume production, ensuring adherence to stringent tier-1 customer requirements within our global, purpose-driven semiconductor company.
What You'll Do
- Own the full product engineering lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
- Define ATE test, qualification, and manufacturing plans.
- Release product into manufacturing while meeting high customer standards.
- Create datasheets and automotive compliance reports.
- Provide real-time customer support for design, product, and quality issues.
- Conduct temperature, voltage, and process characterization to set production limits.
- Drive new product introduction and own product yield.
- Release and maintain product BOMs.
- Manage excursions for both suppliers and customers.
- Use yield tools like PDF Exensio and JMP for improvement and monitoring, generating weekly reports.
- Achieve KPIs for NPI execution, product cost, quality performance, and failure analysis cycle times.
- Optimize PAT, SYL, SBL, and SPC limits to protect quality and minimize waste.
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of experience in product engineering.
- A strong background in analog circuits is essential.
- Familiarity with ATE tester platforms such as Teradyne J750, Advantest 93K, DMDx, and SPEA.
- Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuitry, device physics, test methodology, and DFT.
- Familiarity with JEDEC and AEC qualification standards and stress test conditions.
- Experience with yield management tools (PDF Exensio, JMP) and applying statistical analysis for data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage supplier excursions and customer escalations through problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A team player effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Nice to Have
- Experience with common lab test equipment (DC power supply, oscilloscope, multi-meters). Bench characterization is a plus.
- Experience with qualification hardware and software development.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor Failure Analysis.
- MS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
