About the Role
Lead product marketing and technical storytelling for Kubernetes and data platform optimization, shaping market narratives, driving customer insights, and positioning the platform across technical and executive audiences through content, events, and strategic messaging.
Responsibilities
- Establish and share a clear perspective on platform optimization for Kubernetes and modern data platforms, based on real-world operations.
- Develop and maintain authoritative narratives, mental models, and technical frameworks used internally to define the problem and solution space.
- Ensure messaging consistency across products, use cases, and customer segments as the platform grows and changes.
- Serve as the main marketing liaison to the VP of Product for the Platform business unit.
- Determine which product features, capabilities, or integrations are most market-relevant and prioritize PMM resources accordingly.
- Filter out market noise to focus internal teams on what truly matters.
- Convert product roadmaps into compelling market stories that connect technical development to customer value.
- Produce high-quality technical content including webinars, blogs, whitepapers, and presentations to educate and influence the market.
- Represent the company as a public speaker at industry events, conferences, and community forums.
- Engage with open source and practitioner communities to understand real-world platform implementation and operations.
- Design and deliver live demonstrations, technical walkthroughs, and reference architectures that show optimization in action.
- Maintain an up-to-date competitive analysis for the Platform business unit, including win-loss insights and strategic responses.
- Lead executive-level messaging and handle complex objections in high-stakes sales conversations.
- Conduct regular customer and prospect interviews to uncover pain points, objections, and cross-industry trends.
- Help define and refine ideal customer profiles and core problem areas, including how industries manage automation, risk, and control.
- Turn customer and market insights into actionable recommendations for product and leadership teams.
- Challenge narratives that sacrifice long-term credibility for short-term gains, protecting category leadership and trust.
Requirements
- Proven senior-level product marketing experience with full ownership of positioning and go-to-market strategy for a technical product targeting platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams.
- Direct experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms, including deep understanding of automation, performance, and operational tradeoffs in distributed systems.
- Knowledge of data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar, and awareness of optimization challenges as these systems scale.
