AbbVie's Allergan Aesthetics division is hiring a Principal Engineer, Process Support. In this role, you will provide critical technical support to AbbVie Technical Operations Functions and Technical Centers worldwide. You will be responsible for resolving analytical issues with commercial and R&D APIs and drug products, while supporting cross-functional teams during development, commercial launch, and problem-solving initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and apply state-of-the-art chemical engineering knowledge.
- Evaluate and integrate relevant engineering advances to improve or solve problems.
- Understand business implications of assigned products and processes to identify compatible engineering solutions.
- Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses related to project outcomes.
- Apply advanced scientific knowledge to projects and determine priorities for experiments.
- Assure experimental quality through sound, independent, experimental design.
- Apply results of literature, patent, and current practice reviews to determine strategic technical direction.
- Direct the work of team members on projects and may coordinate outside resources.
- Present results of projects both internally and externally.
- Participate in project planning and process updates, contributing to experimental design.
- Develop productive collaborations and communication with other groups across scientific disciplines and with scientists outside of AbbVie.
- Use an external information network to gain competitive intelligence.
- Be responsible for timely project completion.
- Design experiments and documentation independently.
- May supervise interns and/or EPDP engineers.
- May act as lead engineer, project leader, or project contributor.
- Provide technical direction and feedback to others.
What We're Looking For
- BS in Chemical Engineering or related field with 8-10 years of experience.
- MS in Chemical Engineering or related field with 6-8 years of experience.
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field with 2-5 years of experience.
