Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is hiring a Principal Scientist I to spearhead innovative research as a principal investigator. In this role, you will generate original ideas and lead scientific strategies for inflammatory skin diseases, utilizing complex human models to advance drug discovery.
What You'll Do
- Act as a principal investigator, generating and leading original ideas, strategies, and new scientific proposals in the area of inflammatory skin diseases using complex human models.
- Anticipate, critically evaluate, and respond to scientific, regulatory, or competitive advances and threats.
- Serve as the independent scientific expert on project teams within your area of expertise.
- Function as the primary author of publications, presentations, and regulatory documents, and/or as the primary inventor of patents.
- Present research findings at leading scientific conferences.
- Understand and adhere to corporate codes of conduct and safety standards.
- Mentor team members and evaluate performance.
What We're Looking For
- Must possess a PhD in biological sciences, bioengineering, or chemical engineering.
- At least 1 year developing and implementing complex in vitro human models for drug discovery within a pharmaceutical company.
- At least 1 year developing and validating human tissue-on-a-chip models.
- At least 1 year growing primary human tissue culture, including multiple cell types in a co-culture.
- At least 1 year performing data and image acquisition, analysis, and presentation.
