Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision for the payments platform, influencing architecture, standards, and engineering excellence
- Architect and implement payment systems that are scalable, secure, fault-tolerant, and economically efficient
- Guide teams in transitioning to a modern microservices architecture while managing delivery timelines and system sustainability
- Remain actively involved in technical execution through design reviews, architecture assessments, and hands-on development when necessary
- Solve advanced technical problems related to system scalability, reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Serve as a trusted technical authority across engineering groups, advising on critical decisions within the payments space
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and payment service providers on integration, alignment, and troubleshooting
- Participate in strategic planning, including roadmap development, initiative scoping, and architectural design for complex projects
- Create comprehensive technical documentation and help establish engineering standards and best practices organization-wide
