Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company (BHDIC) seeks a Principal Business Systems Analyst to support the full lifecycle of software product features. This role is the essential connection between the application development team and business product owners, driving analytical, building, testing, and deployment tasks.
What You'll Do
- Own the complete understanding of business and technical needs and translate them into a prioritized backlog.
- Manage several technical projects at a time.
- Write clear, concise, and comprehensive business and reporting requirements using the current technology stack.
- Participate in design, requirements engineering, scrum execution, and technical discussions.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback on requirements, specifications, technical design documents, and testing results.
- Responsibly delegate responsibilities and activities to appropriate team members.
- Collaborate and resolve conflict with business stakeholders.
- Communicate key insights and findings to business stakeholders.
- Develop strong partnerships with business teams and other groups.
- Deliver required capabilities per biBerk standards and help keep standards current.
- Identify, design, document, and maintain system processes for owned functional areas.
What We're Looking For
- Commercial insurance experience.
- Experience with database architecture and APIs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a business analyst, product owner, or equivalent role.
Nice to Have
- Experience with gathering and documenting thorough business requirements and user acceptance criteria.
- Strong knowledge of generating process documentation.
- Outstanding communication, collaboration capabilities, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Expertise with SQL and other query languages.
