Responsibilities
- Configure, calibrate, and operate gravure or multi-color offset presses to produce prints with single, two, or multiple colors, including solid fills, screened tints, line work, and halftones with exacting color and alignment tolerances from minimal to stringent levels
- Analyze job details to determine proper press configuration based on sheet layout method, such as sheet-wise or work-and-turn arrangements
- Carry out all pre-production setup tasks specific to the press type, including mounting plates or cylinders, inspecting them for defects, verifying image placement, preparing press blankets, and setting correct tension and registration
- Adjust ink settings and press parameters before and during runs to ensure output meets defined quality standards for color accuracy and consistency
- Clean, lubricate, and service equipment regularly, perform minor fixes, and replace damaged or worn components as necessary
- Conduct routine maintenance procedures in line with manufacturer guidelines
