Connecticut Public Broadcasting Inc is seeking a President and CEO to lead a strong public media organization into its next chapter. You will inherit significant momentum and be responsible for guiding sustainable growth, innovation, and long-term impact.
What You'll Do
- Maintain the organization's commitment as a premier public media entity, upholding the highest journalistic standards.
- Partner with the Board of Trustees to develop, monitor, and update a comprehensive strategic plan.
- Direct the implementation of operational plans that assure long-term financial sustainability.
- Nurture a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture focused on innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Provide clear, inspiring leadership and communicate results, challenges, and opportunities to key stakeholders.
- Build significant financial support by leading development efforts to cultivate and secure new funding sources.
- Promote a collaborative culture that values diversity, transparency, accountability, and a strong sense of mission.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top-caliber team members.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with PBS, NPR, CPB, and other key players in the public media ecosystem.
- Work with content leaders to assess and improve content, programming, and distribution across all platforms.
- Drive broader and deeper audience engagement, especially with diverse and underserved communities.
- Serve as the public face of the organization, stewarding its reputation and building its brand across the state.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated affinity to Connecticut Public’s mission through public media experience, being an engaged listener/user, or leading a mission-driven journalism or relevant organization.
- Fundraising experience or proven ability in sales/fundraising.
- Innovation and transformation background as an effective digital leader.
- Media operating experience with a track record of outstanding organizational leadership.
Nice to Have
- Business and financial acumen, including skill in managing budgets and allocating resources; ideally P&L operating experience.
- Communications expertise, including proven written, oral, and visual communication skills.
- A strong commitment to a diverse and equitable workplace.
