The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is hiring a Preservation Student Assistant to join the Library's Preservation Services team. This Federal Work Study position plays a key role in caring for the circulating collection, ensuring students and faculty have access to materials that support research and scholarship.
What You'll Do
- Perform rounds to collect materials for the Preservation department.
- Charge and discharge materials using the library's collections database.
- Apply call number labels and duplicate barcodes.
- Create title labels using Microsoft Word.
- Measure materials for special enclosures ordered from an outside vendor.
- Construct enclosures including pamphlets, tux boxes, and phase boxes.
What We're Looking For
- Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Ability to pass a background check.

- Hourly wage of $16.71.
Work Mode
