Role Overview
This position supports the expansion of a national data center construction platform by driving preconstruction efforts for high-capacity projects ranging from 10MW to over 500MW. The Preconstruction Sales Specialist acts as a liaison between sales, technical teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment from initial opportunity identification through proposal delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales leadership to identify and evaluate new data center development opportunities.
- Support client-facing activities including presentations, site walkthroughs, and technical discussions.
- Help manage the pursuit pipeline using CRM systems to track client interactions and project progress.
- Develop relationships with consultants, engineers, and trade partners to strengthen industry networks.
- Assist in creating conceptual and detailed cost estimates for mission-critical facilities.
- Prepare proposal content, including narratives and technical responses, tailored to client requirements.
- Coordinate internal teams across estimating, design, safety, and operations to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Participate in early design reviews, constructability assessments, and value analysis sessions.
- Support procurement planning by reviewing trade partner qualifications and scope definitions.
- Contribute to cost modeling tools and maintain benchmarks for MEP and critical systems.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring 3–6 years of experience in construction, preconstruction, estimating, or project coordination. Strong organizational and communication abilities are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred, as is prior experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers. Familiarity with proposal management, RFP processes, and CRM platforms will support success in this role.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely or from project locations, including Dallas-Fort Worth. The position requires collaboration across time zones and occasional travel for client engagements and industry events.
