MultiCare is looking for a Pre Service IV Auth Specialist to ensure patients have a clear financial path for care. You will play a key role in our mission-driven organization by managing the pre-service process, allowing clinical teams to focus on patient needs.
What You'll Do
- Complete pre-registrations by verifying insurance information, including eligibility and benefits
- Validate referrals and prior authorizations
- Submit and monitor pre-authorizations for healthcare services
- Provide price estimates for anticipated services
- Identify and secure financial resources for healthcare services provided
- Communicate Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) issues to referring providers
- Work with referring providers to resolve pre-service authorization denials
- Serve as a functional expert for peers across Patient Access
What We're Looking For
- Medical Terminology proficiency by exam AND one of the following:
- One (1) year of admitting, billing, or registration experience in a health care setting
- Graduate of a health vocational program such as Medical Assistance, Medical Billing & Insurance, or Medical General
- AA Degree and six months of healthcare experience
Nice to Have
- One (1) year of post high school business or college course work
- National Association of Healthcare Access Management Certification
- Minimum one (1) year experience in dealing with the public in a customer service role
