The Power Supply Trading Analyst will monitor electricity and power markets, evaluate supply trends, and assist in executing trading strategies to optimize financial performance and manage risk exposure.
Responsibilities
- Analyze real-time and historical power market data to identify trading opportunities
- Monitor electricity supply availability across regional markets
- Evaluate generation patterns and transmission constraints
- Support development of short- and long-term trading strategies
- Track regulatory changes affecting power supply operations
- Prepare daily reports on market conditions and price trends
- Collaborate with traders to execute power purchase and sale agreements
- Assess risks associated with power supply volatility
- Maintain databases of power generation and delivery metrics
- Forecast supply capacity based on weather and demand patterns
- Identify imbalances between power supply and demand
- Provide analysis for peak load and off-peak trading windows
- Evaluate fuel cost impacts on power generation economics
- Assist in structuring hedging strategies for supply portfolios
- Monitor competitor activity in wholesale power markets
- Use analytical tools to model market scenarios
- Communicate findings to trading desk and risk management teams
- Ensure compliance with market reporting requirements
- Support integration of renewable supply sources into trading plans
- Participate in operational reviews of power delivery performance
