What You'll Do
Analyze and refine pricing models to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial targets. You'll calculate premiums and policy values using established actuarial methods and conduct sensitivity and compliance testing to support decision-making.
Prepare and validate documentation for state filings, including actuarial memoranda and certifications. You'll engage with regulators as needed and maintain thorough records of analytical processes.
Extract and evaluate experience data to inform pricing recommendations. This includes performing in-depth experience studies such as mortality and lapse analysis to assess product performance.
Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and leadership to design new products and enhance existing ones. You'll also contribute to financial planning and deliver insights that help business partners understand key performance indicators.
Streamline workflows through automation and tool development. You’ll lead or support process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort across actuarial functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field
- Minimum of five years of professional actuarial experience
- Completion of at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams
- Proficiency with Excel and VBA for modeling and reporting
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, SAS, Python, or R for data querying and analysis
- Demonstrated analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Willingness to mentor junior team members and contribute to team development
- Commitment to ongoing learning and progress toward actuarial fellowship

Preferred Qualifications
- Background in life insurance or life actuarial work
- Experience with actuarial modeling systems such as GGY-AXIS, MG-ALFA, or PolySystems
Technical Environment
You’ll work with tools including GGY-AXIS, MG-ALFA, PolySystems, Excel, VBA, SQL, SAS, Python, and R to perform analysis, build models, and automate processes.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with primary locations in Boston, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Chicago, Cincinnati, Des Moines, and Hartford. The position allows remote work with occasional travel based on business needs.
Compensation
Annual salary ranges from $79,500 to $132,900, based on experience and location.
