Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is hiring a Postdoctoral Scientist for the Smidt Heart Institute. You will join the laboratory of Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim to support research on extracellular vesicles and small non-coding RNA. This role involves working independently while in close cooperation with Dr. Ibrahim within our dynamic, inclusive environment dedicated to research innovation and excellence in patient care.
What You'll Do
- Design and perform experiments.
- Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
- Analyze and interpret data.
- Participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
- Develop grant proposals either independently or collaboratively.
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures.
- Participate in research/academic meetings, performing calculations, tabulating data, and summarizing methods and results.
- Prepare budgets and IACUC documentation, establish and monitor research accounts, edit scientific papers, order supplies and animals, and schedule procedures.
- Perform pre-surgical preparation, surgical assistance, post-operative recovery of animals, daily drug administration, and census maintenance.
- Perform some minor surgical procedures in rodents.
- Train new research fellows and maintain and service laboratory equipment.
- Function efficiently and cooperatively with a team of faculty, research associates, technicians, and students.
What We're Looking For
- A Doctorate Degree in an area directly related to the field of research specialization.
Team & Environment
You will work in close cooperation and consultation with Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, Professor in the Department of Cardiology, and report directly to him.
Work Mode
This position is onsite.
