Penn State is hiring a Postdoctoral Scholar of Machine Learning and Statistical Genomics. In this role, you will develop and apply statistical genomic methods to analyze multi-omics datasets for understanding complex disease etiology and create novel statistical models to analyze EHR data.
What You'll Do
- Review literature, design methods, and implement statistical approaches.
- Analyze complex datasets and summarize study results.
- Draft manuscripts for publication.
- Work closely with the team to publish research in high-impact journals.
- Present findings at scientific conferences.
What We're Looking For
- A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated evidence of excellent programming skills.
- Demonstrated evidence of excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Strong interest and research background in statistical genomics.
- Strong interest and research background in machine or deep learning.
- Strong interest and research background in bioinformatics methods for -omics data.
