The University of Sydney is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Sydney Dental School. In this role, you will contribute to restorative and reconstructive dentistry research, designing and conducting a high-quality study of functional scaffolds for bone repair to support the health and well-being of people with craniofacial and orodental defects.
What You'll Do
- Conduct research, scholarly, or professional activity, independently or as part of a team, to contribute to discipline knowledge.
- Develop and refine independent research skills under supervision, with an increasing degree of autonomy.
- Provide informal mentoring and advice to students within the discipline where appropriate.
- Ensure quality, standards, and excellence are maintained in all research activities and output.
- Carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty and school meetings.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture that values diversity of thought, collaboration, excellence, and achieving outcomes.
- Maintain an understanding of the University’s strategic agenda and contribute to furthering it.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Faculty, School, or Portfolio as articulated in relevant strategic plans.
- Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate to the classification level as required.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD or PhD under submission in biomedical engineering, dentistry, or a relevant field.
- A developing research profile in biomedical engineering and dental research.
- Demonstrated understanding of the subject-matter within the discipline.
- Experience conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity.
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Benefits & Compensation
- Base Salary: $105,117 + 17% superannuation.
Work Mode
This is an onsite role based in Camperdown.
