What You'll Do

  • Initiate and lead an independent research project investigating how alpha-herpesvirus reactivation in neuronal cells contributes to AD-associated pathology.
  • Develop and optimize human iPSC-derived neurons for HSV-1 latency and reactivation studies.
  • Engineer isogenic iPSC lines using CRISPR/Cas9.
  • Establish a neuronal-microglia co-culture system to study neuroinflammatory responses.
  • Apply transcriptomic, proteomic, and/or epigenomic profiling to identify pathways involved in virally induced AD pathology.
  • Publish work in top-tier journals and present findings at scientific conferences.

What We're Looking For

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, neuroscience, virology, immunology, or a closely related field.
  • At least one first-author paper published or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with neuronal cell culture is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in viral infections, molecular biology, microscopy, CRISPR/Cas9, and omics-based approaches is an advantage.

Technical Stack

  • CRISPR/Cas9
  • Transcriptomic profiling
