What You'll Do
Lead policy and advocacy efforts across a portfolio of five state markets, focusing on advancing sustainable primary care models. Serve as the go-to expert on state-specific policy landscapes, providing actionable insights to internal teams and guiding strategic direction. Build and maintain relationships with key external partners, including state associations, government agencies, and payers, to align on shared goals.
Design and deliver policy products such as presentations, advocacy campaigns, webinars, and written content tailored to each state’s environment. Play a central role in shaping legislative workgroups and contributing to the development of policy positions. Support cross-functional initiatives with teams in Partnerships, Growth, Clinical, and Communications, ensuring policy considerations are integrated effectively.
Represent the organization in engagements with legislators and stakeholders at both state and federal levels. Help sustain practice involvement in advocacy efforts and contribute to broader initiatives like RHTP and annual PFS. Maintain regular communication with member practices and internal teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience; a Master’s degree in a related field may offset some experience requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, business, or a comparable discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of federal and state legislative processes, with a strong interest in primary care and value-based care
- Willingness and ability to register as a lobbyist in one or more states within the assigned portfolio
- Ability to travel to each of the five assigned markets 1–2 times per year, plus 3–5 team events or conferences annually
- Proven ability to operate independently and manage complex policy operations across diverse regions
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in value-based care or primary care advocacy
- Background in grassroots organizing or political campaigns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- High attention to detail and organizational capacity
