Parsons Transportation Group is hiring a Planning Engineer (Infrastructure) to provide critical scheduling and program management for a significant cycle track project. In this onsite role in Abu Dhabi, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, analyzing delays, and ensuring the timely completion of all project phases.
What You'll Do
- Review and convey Engineer’s consent to the Contractors’ Baseline schedule of works in line with Contract conditions.
- Validate compatibility of project resources for timely completion.
- Develop a Master Schedule integrating multiple project packages while considering their interdependencies.
- Evaluate and verify planning and scheduling information from updated progress schedules.
- Identify potential areas of delay, highlight critical events, and suggest mitigation measures.
- Conduct “What if” analysis to assess the time impact of changes and potential events.
- Prepare regular progress reports with program analysis and recommendations.
- Perform detailed assessment of claims, including Extension of Time and Disruption, using leading delay analysis methodologies.
- Discuss, coordinate, and resolve planning and scheduling problems with the contractor and the Employer.
- Coordinate with the Client to finalize the contractor’s programs, reports, and claims.
- Attend project meetings including kick-off, technical, service coordination, and progress reviews.
- Prepare Trackers and Logs to monitor critical issues during Design and Construction stages.
- Agree on the progress measurement system and key indicators with consultants and contractors.
- Provide reasoned responses to contractor notices using programming data and contractual provisions.
- Maintain proper record keeping of project contemporary records.
- Issue delay notices for the contractor’s culpable delay and slow performance letters.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and claims on relevant infrastructure projects (Roads, Utilities, and Landscape).
- Proven experience working on infrastructure and utilities projects with an excellent overall understanding of the construction industry.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6.
