Role Overview
As a Piping Field Engineer, you will deliver on-site engineering support for the construction of a semiconductor manufacturing facility in New Albany, Ohio. Your work will focus on translating design plans into actionable field tasks, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of construction drawings, projections, and schedules to align workforce, equipment, and material needs
- Assist in planning construction techniques and workflows to support project timelines
- Initiate procurement requests for field-required materials and equipment
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and maintain accurate records in tracking systems
- Verify that all materials are properly documented and accounted for in project databases
- Enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with the Zero Accidents philosophy and safe operation of tools and equipment
- Support continuous improvement by engaging in professional development and learning initiatives
- Collaborate with construction teams to interpret engineering drawings, vendor specifications, and technical documentation
- Gain proficiency in system and area scoping to support package development
- Assemble digital and physical turnover packages for handover to startup and client teams
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) requirements
- Understanding of business ethics policies and safety standards, including Bechtel’s Zero Accidents program
- Experience managing and supervising subcontractors in field environments
