We are looking for qualified Paramedics or recent Paramedic graduates to join our frontline emergency response team. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, conducting rapid patient assessments, and delivering critical care in a variety of settings. Your work will directly support community health and safety through timely medical intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency medical calls using marked ambulances equipped for urgent care
- Perform patient assessments, administer treatments, and monitor conditions during transport
- Operate medical equipment including defibrillators, oxygen supplies, and monitoring devices
- Document patient care and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Collaborate with emergency departments and other healthcare providers during handovers
Requirements
- Current registration with the Paramedic Board of New Zealand
- Valid New Zealand driver’s licence with a clean record
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound clinical decisions
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient dignity and safety
- For graduate applicants: completion of an approved Bachelor of Paramedic Science or equivalent
Working Environment
This role involves shift work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. You will operate in diverse environments—from urban centers to remote locations—and must be prepared for physically and emotionally demanding situations. Training and ongoing professional development are supported to ensure continued growth and competence.
