Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy.
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens following defined laboratory procedures.
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for shipment.
- Confirm alignment between test requests and computer-generated labels to prevent errors.
- Clearly communicate testing processes to patients and support collection of various sample types.
- Keep workspaces sanitized and hazard-free through routine decontamination and logs.
- Adhere to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection.
- Accurately record and update patient data with a focus on precision.
- Support workflow improvements by assisting in issue resolution, training, and process suggestions.
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results when authorized.
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge.
