Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens following defined procedures
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for shipment
- Confirm alignment between test requests and digital labeling to prevent errors
- Clearly communicate testing processes to patients and support collection of blood, urine, and stool samples
- Keep workspaces sanitized and safe through routine decontamination and maintenance logging
- Adhere to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection
- Accurately record and update patient data with high attention to detail
- Support workflow improvements by assisting with issue resolution, staff training, and process suggestions
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results when appropriate
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge and practices
