Responsibilities
- Draw blood efficiently and gently, prioritizing patient comfort and sample precision.
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens following defined procedures.
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for shipment.
- Confirm alignment between test orders and digital labels to prevent errors.
- Clearly communicate testing processes to patients and support collection of blood, urine, and stool samples.
- Keep workspaces sanitary and safe through routine decontamination and maintenance logging.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection.
- Accurately enter and manage patient data with a focus on precision.
- Help resolve operational issues, train team members, and suggest workflow enhancements.
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results when appropriate.
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge.
