Allegheny Health Network is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team on a full-time day shift at our Penn Hills location. You will be responsible for collecting patient specimens using standard phlebotomy techniques and ensuring efficient laboratory operations.
What You'll Do
- Collect and process patient specimens on and off site in accordance with laboratory policies within expected timeframes.
- Perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks using standard techniques.
- Provide instruction and assistance with the collection of non-blood specimens.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and ensure adequate supplies for operations.
- Perform laboratory support duties such as order entry, registration, and specimen receiving.
- Mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Phlebotomy training.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- Six months’ phlebotomy experience.
- Valid driver’s license, which may be required depending on work location.
