Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens following standardized procedures
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for shipment
- Confirm alignment between test requests and digital labels to prevent errors
- Communicate clearly with patients about collection procedures, including blood, urine, and stool samples
- Keep workspaces sanitized and hazard-free through routine decontamination and maintenance logs
- Adhere to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection
- Accurately enter and update patient data with a focus on precision
- Support workflow improvements by assisting in problem-solving and staff training
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and release lab results as authorized
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge
