Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy.
- Gather specimens and apply correct labeling and storage methods according to standard procedures.
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and preparation for safe transport.
- Confirm alignment between test requests and computer-generated labels to ensure data integrity.
- Clearly communicate testing processes to patients and support collection of various specimen types.
- Keep workspaces sanitized and safe by conducting decontamination and logging maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection.
- Accurately enter and manage patient records with a focus on detail and confidentiality.
- Support workflow improvements by assisting with issue resolution, staff training, and process suggestions.
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results as authorized.
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge and skills.
