Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy.
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens following standardized procedures.
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for shipment.
- Confirm alignment between test requests and digital labels to prevent errors.
- Communicate clearly with patients about collection procedures and assist with samples such as blood, urine, and stool.
- Keep workspaces sanitized and safe by conducting decontamination and logging maintenance tasks.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection.
- Accurately enter and manage patient data with a focus on precision.
- Support workflow improvements by troubleshooting issues, training staff, and suggesting operational enhancements.
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results when authorized.
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge and skills.
