Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens according to established guidelines
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for transport
- Confirm alignment between test requests and computer-generated specimen labels
- Clearly communicate testing procedures to patients and support collection of blood, urine, and fecal samples
- Keep workspaces sanitized and safe by completing decontamination tasks and logging maintenance activities
- Adhere strictly to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection
- Accurately record and update patient data with high attention to detail
- Support workflow improvements by assisting with issue resolution, staff training, and process recommendations
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results as authorized
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge and skills
